How to leave a group as an admin
What admins can and cannot do when leaving a group - there is no way to delete a group for everyone.
HiYou has no feature for an admin to delete or dissolve a group for everyone. Admins can only leave, the same way any member does - see How to exit a group as a member for the steps.
What happens depends on who is left after you go:
- If other members remain and you were the only admin, the oldest remaining member becomes admin automatically.
- If you are the last person in the group, the group is archived once you leave - it is not deleted while other members are still in it.
To remove the group from your own chat list without leaving it for everyone, use Clear chat or Delete chat instead - these only affect your own copy of the conversation. See How to clear chats and How to delete chats.
