How to send GIFs
Browse, search for, and send animated GIFs in a HiYou chat.
You can browse or search for an animated GIF and send it in an individual or group chat where you are allowed to send messages.
Find and send a GIF
- Open the chat and tap the attachment icon beside the message box.
- Tap GIF.
- Browse the trending GIFs, or enter words in Search GIFs.
- Scroll down to load more results.
- Tap a GIF to send it immediately.
- Open the chat and tap the + button beside the message box.
- Tap GIF.
- Browse the trending GIFs, or enter words in Search GIFs.
- Scroll down to load more results.
- Tap a GIF to download and send it immediately.
There is no separate preview or confirmation after you tap a result, and you cannot add a caption before sending it. Use Cancel or close the picker before choosing a GIF if you don't want to send one.
How GIF delivery works
HiYou first downloads the selected full-quality GIF, encrypts it, and uploads it to ChatX media storage. Recipients download the GIF from ChatX rather than directly from the GIF search provider. The small images shown while browsing are previews only.
GIF search and sending require an internet connection. If results cannot load or the selected GIF cannot be downloaded or uploaded, HiYou displays an error and the GIF is not sent. Check your connection and try again.
Play or delete a GIF
A received GIF animates automatically when its data is available. If it has not downloaded yet, tap the download button first. To remove a GIF message, press and hold it and use the same delete action as any other message.
