How to format text in messages
Make part of a message bold, italic, or strikethrough using symbols.
HiYou supports basic text formatting using symbols, rather than a formatting toolbar. Wrap the text you want to format, then send the message as usual - HiYou shows it formatted and removes the symbols for everyone who sees it.
- Bold: wrap text in asterisks, like
*this*. - Italic: wrap text in underscores, like
_this_. Strikethrough: wrap text in tildes, like~this~.
This works the same way on Android and iPhone. Monospace or code-style text is not supported.
