How to transfer chat history to a new device
Move your chat, call, and activity history directly from an existing device to a new one.
This is available any time from Settings, not just during initial setup. Start it after you've already signed in to your account on the new device.
On the new device
- Open Settings, then tap Account.
- Tap Transfer history from another device.
- Wait while HiYou asks a device that's already signed in to approve the request.
On a device that's already signed in
- When a request arrives, HiYou shows a Link new device? prompt naming the requesting device.
- Tap Send history to approve, or Deny to decline. Only approve this if it's your own device.
History moves directly between your devices over an encrypted connection - HiYou's servers never store a copy of it. Media isn't included in the transfer; it's downloaded again as needed once you're using the new device.
