How to change your phone number
Move your HiYou account to a new phone number without losing your chats or groups.
Changing your number keeps the same account - your chats, groups, and message history stay exactly as they are. This is different from registering on a new device, which signs you into an account using a number it already has.
- Open Settings, then tap your profile card to open Profile.
- Tap Phone.
- Enter your new phone number, then tap Send verification code.
- Enter the 6-digit code sent to the new number, then tap Verify.
- Open Settings, then tap your profile card to open Profile.
- Tap Phone.
- Enter your new phone number, then tap Next.
- Enter the 6-digit code sent to the new number, then tap Verify.
Your new number can't already be registered to another HiYou account, and it can't be the same as your current number. If the code doesn't arrive, you can request a new one after 60 seconds.
