How to use app lock

Protect HiYou on this device with a four-digit PIN and optional biometric unlock.

App Lock asks for a four-digit PIN whenever HiYou is opened. The PIN and App Lock setting belong to this device, so set it up separately on each phone where you use HiYou.

Turn on App Lock

  1. Open HiYou and go to Settings.
  2. Tap Privacy, then App Lock.
  3. Turn on Require PIN.
  4. Enter a four-digit PIN, tap Next, then enter it again to confirm.

Choose a PIN that you can remember and that other people cannot easily guess. App Lock is separate from your phone's screen lock and your HiYou sign-in credentials.

Use biometric unlock

After App Lock is on, turn on the biometric option to unlock more quickly.

  1. On the App Lock page, turn on Unlock with biometrics.
  2. Your phone must have a supported strong biometric method set up.
  3. You can still use the four-digit PIN when biometrics are unavailable.

Turn off App Lock

Go to Settings > Privacy > App Lock, turn off Require PIN, then enter your current PIN to confirm. Turning App Lock off also turns off biometric unlock for HiYou.

If you forget your PIN

The App Lock PIN is stored only on your device and cannot be recovered. On the lock screen, tap Forget PIN?, then confirm that you want to sign out. Signing out clears the local App Lock PIN. You will need to sign in to HiYou again.

App Lock helps prevent someone who has your unlocked phone from opening HiYou. It does not replace your phone's screen lock, end-to-end encryption, or Screen Security.
